Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, surpass the chairman of Amazon Jeff Bezos as the richest man in the world. Bloomberg reported that Musk obtained more than $9.5 billion more than Bezos in 2020.
Bloomberg Index reported that Jeff Bezos had been the richest person in the world since 2017. But in 2020, Musk’s net worth grew to more than $ 194.8 billion.
Moreover, the 743% growth of the prices from Tesla’s shares significantly attributed to the increase of Musk’s net worth. “The electric carmaker’s entry into the S&P500 index of the New York Stock Exchange had made Musk’s 2020 a phenomenal year. The stock price of the said company gained 23,900% since the initial public offering in 2010.
Interestingly, Tesla produced over half million cars in 2020. The market value of the company is $773.5 billion and $ 811.61 per share. Tesla surpassed the market value of Facebook, with $765 market capitalization, for the first time.
Respectively, the chairman of Tesla also attained 150 billion dollars in his wealth making him the richest man in the world.
Musk also stated in his Twitter account in 2018 that half of his money is intended to help the ongoing problems of the world and the other half is to establish a self-sustaining city on Mars to ensure the continuation of life– not just for humans but also for all species in case the world gets hits by meteor or occurrence of WW3 that might cause major destructions.
